July 2, 2026 marks five years since KRAFTON India first launched Battlegrounds Mobile India on Android, filling the gap left after the original PUBG Mobile was banned in India in 2020. The game has since grown into one of the country’s biggest mobile titles, reportedly surpassing 240 million users in India. As usual, KRAFTON is marking the occasion with in-game anniversary events, limited-time crates, and community rewards rolling out through its app and social channels.
GodLike Esports Complete a Last-to-First Comeback at BMPS 2026
The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2026 wrapped up its Jaipur Grand Finals with one of the most dramatic finishes in the game’s competitive history. GodLike Esports entered the final day of the 16-team finals sitting in last place — 40 points behind leader Divine Gaming — and clawed all the way back to finish first with 162 points, edging out Divine by 10.
The broadcast peaked at nearly 730,000 concurrent viewers, a new all-time high for BGMI esports, and the event drew over 12,000 attendees on-site across the three-day finals. GodLike’s win also comes with a direct qualification slot for the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026.
BMPS sits at the top of KRAFTON’s invite-only pro circuit, reserved for teams that have already proven themselves through BGIS and other qualifying events — this year’s edition ran from June 14 through July 6.
Rising Star Invitational Kicks Off July 3
Right on the back of BMPS, KRAFTON India is turning the spotlight on emerging talent with the BGMI Rising Star Invitational, running July 3–5. Sixteen players from the Esports Rising Stars Program will each captain their own five-player squad, competing for an INR 5 lakh prize pool. The tournament is the competitive centerpiece of KRAFTON’s talent-development pipeline, designed to give up-and-coming players coaching, competitive reps, and national visibility. The Road Ahead: BGMI’s Fuller 2026 Calendar
This year’s BGMI esports calendar is the most structured it’s been since the game’s 2023 relaunch, with four flagship LAN events feeding into one another:
- BGIS (Jan–Mar) — the open-for-all entry point; Team Soul took the title in Chennai with a record ₹4 crore prize pool
- BMPS (Jun–Jul) — the invite-only pro circuit just won by GodLike Esports, with a global qualification slot on the line
- BMSD – Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown (Sept 18–Oct 12) — a 48-team national LAN offering PMGC 2026 slots
- BMIC – Battlegrounds Mobile India Cup (Oct 31–Nov 2) — a new global invitational LAN played on Indian soil, bringing in Korean, Japanese, and other regional top-tier teams
That BMPS-to-global pipeline is the headline change this year — the champion earns direct qualification to compete against top international rosters, continuing a pathway first opened up for Team Aryan in 2025.
